Had a rough 2 days, Our auditions yesterday we only had 2 people show up. Both were great, Sarah Jayne Rooney was awesome and it was good to see Chris Griffiths again after the paperboy last year. Neither of the tutors are happy with my script and they want to see alot of stuff changed, so even though things were looking up and the ball was rolling it seems we're going back to the drawing board.
On the good hand, a girl from the Ents course, Alex, has offered to design our superhero costume for us! Craig knows her and she drew a little sketch of what she thought he could look like and it was awesome. she's also available to do make-up.

First Script and More Locations!
Script is finished, i'll have to figure out a way to upload it and link it on here rather than copying and pasting it, but you'll get it soon! Weve been scouting for more locations, looking for an allyway and a street that we could use.
scarborough street round the corner from college, pretty gritty, could be awesome.

A more detailed breakdown
The script is almost finished, heres a more detailed breakdown of the story as we've added to it and developed ideas, still looking for actors and locations but the ball is slowly starting to roll. I'm quite excited!
Joe
(temporary name) works at a call centre helping people with their queries
(opening credits/voiceover)
At the end of the opening credits/monologue, Joe gets called
into the boss’s office.
He gets told off for not doing his job properly – two options:
1. The company is corrupt and they keep people on the phone
as long as possible as that’s how they make money, and Joe is a good guy who
actually helps people.
2. Joe is just a guy who’s so eager to help, that he doesn’t
follow all the precautions that are required (such as skipping a few security
questions to get straight to the point of helping people)
Joe agrees to change his ways, and goes back to his desk and
gets on with work. He gets frustrated during his next phone call and leaves
work with a bad feeling.
On his way home he walks past a homeless guy, who looks
desperate for money. Joe decides to help out and gives him some of his money.
(Maybe he could vision himself getting fired from his job
and ending up on the street asking for money himself, and so feels sympathetic)
The homeless guy seems overjoyed, making out like Joe is
some kind of a hero. Joe feels good about himself and in his head, gets the
idea of him literally being a hero.
What follows is Joe doing a bunch of good deeds, The idea’s we have so far is him collecting
money for charity, seeing himself looking really heroic when he’s really just
stood in the street with a bucket. The other idea we had was him helping an old
woman crossing the road. In his head he is carrying her in his arms and she’s
really happy when actually he’s just dragging her across the road.
Joe one day finds a girl being attacked, so him being the
hero that he thinks he is, steps in, the camera pulls into his eyes, and
pulling back out were in Joes superhero world where he is in his costume. (Thinking
maybe the mugger has his own costume too? The two fight and Joe beat him. The
damsel in distress thanks him for the help; Joe goes in for a kiss in
traditional superhero fashion and receives a slap in the face from the woman
for being a pervert.
Joe goes back to work happy, and with his new confidence
decides to help people promptly over the phone as he believes is right. His
boss is once again not happy with this. And so calls him into the office again.
The boss tells him off again for leaving work early the last time, and coming
back and not doing as he was told. Joe doesn’t really care; we once again go
inside his head, where he and his boss have a showdown. (Got a few ideas for
the transition, such as the office desks sliding out the way and the lighting
changing) Joe punches his boss out cold in an awesome fashion. Cut back to
reality Joe is still being told off still. Joe stands up to his boss and quits.
(Closing monologue begins - Joe decides he’s going to move on
in life, thinking of moving to the big city and achieving better things)
Joe is standing on a rooftop (of his apartment??) and we see
his ordinary town fade into his imaginary metropolis and him into his super
suit. Freeze shot and End Credits begin.
ideas for montage bit- cutting back and forth between good deeds and
joe at work answering calls – time passes.

Scouting for locations
This week I have started to write my superhero movie script, its not finished so i can't show you guys yet but i think its going pretty good.
We've been scouting around for locations, just going around hartlepool for the time being. Found potential rooftop locations in the church square tower and the shopping centre car park. I'll keep you guys updated! These are also off my brand new phone i was testing out the camera, its pretty cool.

On top of the church tower roof, this was the best photo i got up there.
its not very city-looking, but we plan to add skyscrapers into the shot using photoshop or after effects
The fog made the view look awesome
Potential allyway-ish looking location

Making a new film
I'm directing and editing a project of my own for my final university project. The concept is a guy who becomes a superhero, yeah. Like that hasnt been done before? Well Me Chris and Craig are putting our own spin on it. He's not actually going to become a superhero, but he's going to do good deeds and in his head, see it as this really epic superhero scene, then in real life is going to be helping people out in a really naff way. The Scenario's weve thought of so far include helping an old lady across the street, broken vending machines, list pets, and modern lifes little problems. Here's a overview:
Joe, in his 30s, works in a call center and gives people
advice, now he is a nice guy who loves to help people out, whereas the rest of
his workmates, and his boss, believe in wasting people’s time as much as
possible to earn more money keeping people on the phone for longer. One day the boss calls him into his office
and gives him a warning that he isn’t doing his job the way he wants him to.
Since he actually offers the customers the best advice he can give, and his
phone calls are pretty straightforward and over relatively quickly, his boss tells
him he needs to keep people on the phone for as long as possible in order to
charge them more for the phone call.
Joe returns to his office and attempts to do what he is
told, he struggles and feels dirty for doing it.
Joe feels the need to do more good in his life outside of
his job, walking home he comes across a girl being attacked, and feels the need
to help out. When joe is doing good and helping people, he sees himself as a
bit of a superhero. And so scenes play out as joe see’s them in his head, which
is, him as his own superhero saving people, and things become over the top. He
manages to beat the attacker in this battle, and so expects the girl to thank
him. In his head this plays out like the superhero cliché of receiving a kiss,
and instead, he receives a slap in the face.
He helps a bunch of people out, Old ladies crossing the
street, broken vending machines, missing pets and modern lifes little problems.
When he goes back to his work, he decides he’s going to be
nice anyway, and he gets a call to the boss’s office. Upon entering his office,
we go inside Joe’s head again, and they both fight each other in a “Boss
Battle” when in reality his boss is having a go at him. After the battle is
over, Joe decides to quit his job and move on in life, The boss’s company goes
out of business after Joe’s departure since there was nobody decent working
there. Joe dreams of moving to the big city and achieving bigger things.
